What is a Juricode?

A Juricode is a structured identifier for the complete set of jurisdictions that govern a single point on Earth. Like a ZIP code identifies a postal zone, a Juricode identifies your full governance stack — every layer from federal down to special district.

Enter any U.S. address and we resolve it to ~13 overlapping jurisdictions: nation, state, county, city, school district, water district, and more. That intersection is your Juricode.

~90,000

governments in the United States

You live inside more governments than you can name.

The U.S. Census counts roughly 90,000 governments. About 39,000 are the ones you'd expect — the nation, your state, your county, your city.

The other 51,000 are quieter. Around 38,000 are special districts — water, fire protection, mosquito abatement, libraries, cemeteries, levees. Each one levies taxes and holds elections. Most of us have never noticed.

No single agency can tell you which ones govern your address. Resolving that requires standing above all of them at once. That is what this is for.

82612 jurisdictions mapped so far. Only ~13 govern any one address — including yours.
