Description

The Planning Department is responsible for the implementation and enforcement of the City's Comprehensive Plan and the City Code of Ordinances: reviewing land use applications, conducting long-range planning, enforcing ordinance violations through a complaint based system, and serving as staff liaison to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Community Development is responsible for economic development and grant activities. Building permits are submitted to the Melrose City Center with the Planning and Zoning Department; the listed Building Official is Bill Barber of Inspectron, Inc.
